The Role

The Head of Organic Media is responsible for all things SEO including the content on clients’ websites and the promotion strategies and techniques which can be adopted to gain higher search engine rankings and subsequent traffic and sales. As an ROI focused digital marketing agency it is essential that all client campaigns are focused on delivering financial growth for our clients.

The Head of Organic Media is responsible for:

  • Line management of the Organic Media team
  • Working with the other Heads of Departments to ensure that the business is achieving it’s strategic goals
  • Managing the relationship, strategy and performance of key client campaigns on an ongoing basis
  • Support and account direct multi-channel campaigns
  • Manage organic search and integrated search campaign relationships for clients
  • Work closely with colleagues in the paid search, social media and online PR teams as required to deliver excellent results for clients
  • Utilise industry tools and software to gain performance insight and report on campaign performance against KPIs
  • Deliver excellent organic search task-based work for campaigns across our client portfolio
  • Dedicate time to training and developing team members
  • Challenge and innovate the Organic Search service that we provide and the processes within that in order to ensure we continue to be at the forefront of Search Marketing
  • Regularly communicate campaign performance to clients
  • Present work to clients
  • Manage and prioritise their workload to meet client expectations and multiple deadlines
  • Record time spent on work and submit weekly timesheets
  • Maintaining and sharing up-to-date knowledge of expert SEO techniques, industry benchmarks and tools
  • Supporting sales and marketing with proposals, pitches, blogs and events as required
  • Problem-solve as different obstacles arise on client campaigns
  • Write industry update content for the ThoughtShift blog
  • Being a role model within the company, championing ThoughtShift’s core values in every aspect of their role

What we’re looking for

The successful candidate will be an excellent marketer who is able to adapt and thrive in the ever-changing world of Search Engine Optimisation. They will have proven experience in:

  • Minimum 4 years marketing experience
  • Minimum 1 year in a digital marketing agency
  • Experience in achieving astounding Digital Marketing campaign results
  • Experience in communicating Digital Marketing campaign performance
  • Experience in managing multiple client/partner relationships
  • Excellent communication skills, including presenting to clients
  • Experience in coaching others at varying knowledge levels
  • A people-person dedicated to achieving a happy team environment, willing to sacrifice their own time as required to support their team
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Strong listening, questioning, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to interpret and explain complex data
  • Strong MS Office and tracking tool knowledge
  • Directly line managing 2 or more team members
