The ThoughtShift Charity Shield is in its 2nd year and is the brain child of myself and our Managing Directors as part of our wellbeing programme. We wanted to do something more for the awesome Brighton community. We feel our role as a business in this great city should play a part in giving back. What better way than bringing likeminded Brighton based businesses together for a charity 5-a-side football tournament, raising some money for an incredible local charity and have some fun! The event is on the 18th April 2019 at the Dorothy Stringer School.
“What an amazing Charity Football Tournament! A massive thanks to ThoughtShift for organising and raising the awareness on a fantastic local charity, The Clock Tower Sanctuary. We managed to win the tournament and our team were buzzing for days! A brilliant chance to boost team communication and spirit!”

“RocketMill participated in this event in 2018 and the team loved it! Those who took part really enjoyed the afternoon and everyone in the office was glued to Twitter, keeping an eye on the score and cheering/booing in the right places! We think it’s great that ThoughtShift has facilitated an event that brings agencies together and raises money for a great cause. We’re excited to be a part of it again in 2019!”

iCrossing are limbering up ready for this year’s tournament. Jamie Clifford, Chief Client Officer at iCrossing said: “The guys had a great time and all for a worthy cause!”
The important work The Clock Tower Sanctuary does is at the heart of Brighton’s Community and being a privileged part of this amazing city, we want to bring businesses together. What better way to connect than over a friendly game of football? We promote inclusivity in all our events, and everyone is welcome to enter and team and play.
The Clock Tower Sanctuary do such incredible work with the young homeless people here in Brighton and Hove, which shockingly has the second largest homeless population in the UK outside of Westminster.
“I just wanted to drop you a line to say a huge ‘THANK YOU’ for organising your Charity Shield in support of The Clock Tower Sanctuary”.
Katya Borowski – The Clock Tower Sanctuary
They provide a range of facilities to help young people cope with the practical problems that arise from homelessness and ensure their basic needs are met. These include a fully stocked kitchen, shower and laundry facilities, computer and telephone usage, a postal address and drop-ins from specialist services. Above all, they offer a friendly, warm, safe and inclusive centre.
They reach out to homeless young people and encourage them to visit the centre. Running interactive activities throughout the week to help build up young people’s trust, confidence and self-belief. Often their clients have not had the opportunity to learn basic life skills that many people take for granted. The Clock Tower Sanctuary run a programme of bite-size, AQA accredited classes which have been developed by national charity Centrepoint. Every young person has their own individual needs and challenges. By working closely with each client, they’re able to identify the most appropriate path out of homelessness for them.
Now you know all about the event and why we are so passionate about bringing the Brighton business community together to raise money for the vulnerable. Why not enter a team?
